INTRO TO RIDING (3-hr Introductory Class; Not an Endorsement Course)

Intro to Riding is perfect for folks who just want to see if motorcycling is for them, or those who are especially nervous about learning to ride and would like to ease into it at a slower pace. This is for true beginners who have never ridden a motorcycle and is a great way to begin the journey as a rider. This course is not a pre-requisite for the Basic I course, but people who take the Intro to Riding tend to build more confidence by mastering clutch and throttle control before going on to the Basic course.

Content: motorcycle controls, starting, stopping, and balance. This class takes place on the range only and there is no classroom portion or testing of skills.

Duration: 3 hours

Cost: $60

Provided: Motorcycles are provided.

Requirements: See STAR gear requirements. A motorcycle permit or endorsement is not needed; however, a driver's license or permit is required.

Additional Information: Class sizes are kept low for lots of individual attention (max class size of 5). Completion of this course does not waive any ITD testing requirements towards a motorcycle endorsement. If you currently own and operate a motorcycle or have previous riding experience, you should enroll in a more advanced course.
