Intermediate Rider Training (IRT) is designed for riders who want to develop better street riding skills but are already comfortable with the basics of turning, shifting, stopping, and balancing the motorcycle.
Content: Real-time, Instructor-led Zoom classroom and on-cycle instruction in street strategies and emergency situation skills. You will practice cornering, braking, and swerving maneuvers on the riding course.
Duration: Conducted in two sessions: Tuesday evening Zoom and Saturday riding course OR two consecutive Saturdays. Approx. 4 hours for Zoom classroom on day 1 and 6 hours on-cycle instruction on day 2. Course end times are approximate and may vary due to weather or other circumstances. Attendance in both classroom Zoom session and riding session is required for successful completion.

Provided: For this course, we STRONGLY encourage you to bring your own motorcycle for the best experience and skills development.
Requirements: See STAR gear requirements. A motorcycle permit or endorsement is not needed; however, a driver's license or permit is required. In order to receive your course completion card, you must attend all classroom and range sessions and pass a knowledge and skill test.
Additional Information: Successful completion of this course will waive ITD's skills test requirement if the endorsement is added within two years of passing the course. More info.
