Be A STAR
Background
STAR is Idaho's state motorcycle safety training program and was formed in 1995 to help combat the rising number of motorcycle related accidents and deaths. The Idaho Division of Professional-Technical Education is responsible for the administration of the program. Funding comes through student enrollment fees and from the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) through driver's license fees ($1 per driver's license), and motorcycle registration fees ($6 per annual registration). As of the end of 2011 STAR has trained over 28,000 riders!
