BOISE—With the arrival of spring and the good weather, there will be an increase of motorcycle riders on the roads in Idaho. Drivers are reminded to “Look Twice for Motorcycles,” and this is particularly promoted during May in observation of national Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month.
Boise, IDAHO, March 5, 2012 – Idaho STAR, the state’s motorcycle safety program, announced that for the first time in their 16 year history, they will be holding three ‘Spring Openers’ to kick off the motorcycle riding season. The events are being hosted and co-sponsored by High Desert Harley-Davidson in Meridian on March 10, Action Motor Sports in Idaho Falls on March 31, and Coeur d'Alene Powersports Honda KTM in Coeur d’Alene on April 14. All three events will run on Saturdays from 11:00am to 1:00pm and are intended to reach riders with information to prevent crashes.
Boise, IDAHO, August 2011 – Idaho STAR, the state’s rider-training program, reported today that motorcycle crashes on Idaho roadways appear to be substantially reduced during the current 2011 riding season to date in comparison to years prior, based on unofficial first quarter statistics from the Office of Highway Safety. Crashes involving motorcyclists through March, 2011 were 50% of the average of the previous five years while fatalities were down by 66%.
Boise, IDAHO, July 5, 2011 – Idaho motorcycle riders can now be among the first to participate in rider training similar to what Idaho police motorcycle officers experience. Idaho STAR, the state rider-training program, has opened registration to its brand new Precision Riding Clinic to fully endorsed riders with a minimum of two years or 10,000 miles of current street-riding experience.
